Christine Stafford, Chief Executive Officer
Christine is a hands-on administrator with broad based managerial and leadership experience.
Early in her career, she worked for a software development company which came in especially handy as she took the reins at VIA, the practice management software division of Eklin Medical Systems. For two years, she lead the team through the most extensive upgrades and enhancements in their history, adding advanced functionality with an open standards platform for the highest and best scalability. Prior to Eklin, Christine assumed the administrator role of a struggling overnight shareholder owned emergency hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. In less than four years, she more than quadrupled revenues and built a stable roster of quality personnel by creating innovative employee training and benefit programs. She has extensive knowledge and a passion for developing processes and workflow for maximum efficiency and establishing high standards of care.
In January 2009, Christine joined BVNS where she thrives on developing sound operational systems to support the rapid growth of the practice; ultimately bringing exceptional quality neurology care to more pets and their families. Christine has an acute understanding of what it takes to run a busy practice and is enjoying her new home in Frederick, Maryland with her dogs, Maxwell and Danny.
Chris Jeffers, Director of Operations
Chris Jeffers is the Director of Operations based in our Frederick office. He comes to us with an extensive background in veterinary management, including most recently serving as a regional operations manager with National Veterinary Associates.
Chris has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Mount St. Mary’s University. He is passionate in his pursuit of team development and leading operational growth.
Chris and his wife, Amy, reside in Greencastle, PA, along with their two cats, Waffles and Jack. In his spare time, Chris enjoys cooking, outdoor activities, and traveling.
Kristy Malseed, Learning and Development Manager
Kristy Malseed is the Learning and Development Manager at BVNS, where she works closely with the leads in each location to ensure each team is growing every day. Kristy has a background in education and management and a degree from Hood College. Prior to coming to BVNS, she was the Employee Development Manager for Goodwill of Monocacy Valley. Her main focus is developing people and helping them to be their best both inside and outside of work.
Kristy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. In her spare time, you can find Kristy in the garden, at a hockey rink, a baseball field, or the beach. She loves to travel to new places and read. She has 2 cats named BB & Mags and 2 red eared slider turtles named Duchess and Princess April.
Leslie Reen, Accountant
Leslie Reen is a graduate of UNC-Greensboro with a BA in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. She comes to BVNS with many years of accounting and office management experience in both small business and the federal government.
Leslie enjoys reading and spending time with her husband of 10 years and two young children. She can also be found outside of work enjoying nature by camping, mountain biking and traveling. She finds relaxation at both the beaches and the mountains.
Stacy Walls, Senior Marketing Manager
Stacy Walls is the Senior Marketing Manager for BVNS and oversees both the external and internal marketing for the company. With a background in English Education and marketing experience from her time with the Ritz-Carlton, Stacy loves being the creative beacon to tell the world about BVNS and the wonderful things our staff accomplish each and every day.
A native of the Pittsburgh area, she is an avid Steelers, Pens and Pirates fan. Stacy and her family, made up of her husband, Jeff, and their pets, Rillette & Rogue, live in Frederick, MD where they are in the process of renovating their first home.
Jessica May, Executive Assistant
Jess is the Executive Assistant at the Administrative Office in Frederick, MD. While reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Director of Operations, she plays a vital role in assisting all management on the Administrative Team.
Jess holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Intermont College and most notably was the manager for a number of years for Meadowbrook Foundation Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization boosting a fivefold charitable mission. Prior to joining BVNS, Jess gained a great deal of experience within the veterinary industry as an equine nurse for Virginia Tech’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, VA.
Having recently moved to Rohrersville, MD, she and her husband, Jeff, along with their two fat cats, Jose and Fiona, enjoy hiking, traveling, and settling into their first home.
