Bennie came to BVNS Atlanta in November fromĀ Cherokee Emergency Veterinary Clinic. He was acutely down on all four limbs and unable to walk. Bennie was in a lot of pain and was having trouble breathing.
Dr. Akin performed a neurologic exam and suspected cervical disc disease. An MRI was performed and confirmed a severe disc herniation causing significant spinal cord compression. A ventral slot surgery was performed and Bennie went home the next day.
This is Bennie pictured at his ten-week post-operative exam. Bennie is now walking and has been going to rehabilitation with GVR several times a week. Today Bennie is pain free and getting back to his normal life- all thanks to Dr. Akin, his dedicated family and the help of GVR!
