Buster is a 4 year old Basset Hound Mix that was referred to our Rockville location from Caring Hands Animal Hospital. We first met Buster in March when he was unable to walk in his hind legs and had a lot of back pain.

A spinal MRI was performed and showed a severe intervertebral disc herniation as the cause for his signs. Dr. Lipitz performed surgery that day to alleviate the compression on his spinal cord, relieve his pain, and restore neurological function.

Pictured is Buster at his 6 week post op recheck exam. He is now walking normally and is very comfortable. His owners and all of us at BVNS are thrilled with his progress. We had to take a photo of him in his raincoat which he needed to stay dry during the rainy month of May!
