When Cosmo came to BVNS Atlanta in January, he was paralyzed in his back legs. Dr. Akin’s neurologic examination localized his deficits to the thoracolumbar region. Using MRI technology, Dr. Akin diagnosed Cosmo with a disc herniation causing spinal cord compression and performed a hemilaminectomy that same day.

This is Cosmo at his 2 week post-operative recheck and staple removal. Since his surgery, Cosmo has been doing well and is returning to normal life with his family.
