In February, Roxy’s parents took her to her primary care veterinarian, Dr. Witter at Ferry Farm Animal Clinic, after noticing that Roxy didn’t want to move her head, cried out when she arched her back and would no longer use the stairs.
Roxy was referred to BVNS Richmond where Dr. Higginbotham performed an examination and an MRI was done. Roxy’s MRI revealed a disk herniation which would require surgery. Roxy underwent a successful ventral slot surgery with Dr. Higginbotham. At her suture removal, just 2 weeks later, she was walking normally and was very comfortable.
Here she is at her 6 week recheck, all smiles and looking better than ever. Roxy’s progress has been wonderful to watch! We will miss her adorable smile.
