Smokey was referred to BVNS Atlanta from Dr. Pepper at Cherokee Animal Hospital in late May. He was in a lot of pain and did not want to move. Dr. Neary’s neurologic examination localized Smokey’s problem to his mid-back. Using MRI, Dr. Neary diagnosed Smokey with a disc herniation causing severe spinal cord compression. A hemilaminectomy was performed and the next day he was discharged to his family.
This is Smokey at his 2 week post-operative recheck removal. He is now pain-free and is returning to normal life with his family. We are thrilled with Smokey’s progress and wish him the best of luck!
