When Buddy came to BVNS Atlanta, he was completely paralyzed in the hind legs, and unable to feel any deep pain in those limbs. After a neurological exam and an MRI of his back with Dr. Akin, Buddy was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease. He had multiple mild disc compressions and one moderate one causing spinal cord compression at L2-L3.

Buddy had a 50% chance of recovering well after surgery and Dr. Akin performed surgery that same day. Within two days Buddy had improved so much, he actually walked out of the hospital on his own!

Here is Buddy with Dr. Akin and Nikki at his staple removal. He has been recovering very well! Buddy is one happy Dachshund! We would like to thank Dr. Amy Warren and the staff at Culbreth Carr Watson Animal Clinic for referring this wonderful family to us.
