To go above and beyond is one part of the BVNS credo. This story is a perfect example of how our amazing team members go above and beyond for our patients and their families.

Piglet’s Mom is a pilot in the army and is actively deployed flying MEDVAC helicopters in Afghanistan. When she is stateside, she breeds Shortie Bulls and Chihuahuas which are given to veterans with PTSD.

Piglet suffered a traumatic brain injury while his mom was deployed, and he was rushed to BVNS Leesburg unable to walk. Piglet required a lot of supportive care and since his mom was deployed, one of our technicians, Connie, took him in for a month to ensure he got the care he needed. We are happy to report that Piglet is now walking thanks to the care he received.

Piglet was reunited with his family yesterday. The entire troop deployed with Piglet’s owner made countless donations for his care and the local radio station even held a fundraiser to help with his medical cost.

Our staff was presented with a flag that was flown during the mission and we are so happy to share these photos of Connie, Piglet and his family.
