Zoe came to our office in December of 2017 for a right head tilt, being disoriented, and falling over. Zoe was medically managed at this time and did well. She returned in June 2018 for fly biting episodes, seeming agitated, and potential vision problems. In the exam room, she was circling and the left side of her muzzle was droopy. An MRI was recommended and performed; Zoe was diagnosed with idiopathic vestibular disease. Dr. Akin saw Zoe again in late June for a recheck where her vision had improved, but she still had a head tilt and was unable to blink with her left eye.
This is Zoe at her last recheck. She is now off all her medications. She is now able to jump on the bed, she no longer has a head tilt, and the left muzzle droop has improved. We are thrilled with her improvement and wish her the best of luck in this future!
