For more than a decade, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been the gold standard in human and veterinary neurology and neurosurgery. Our experience and the leading research demonstrates that it is a safe, accurate and essential test for neurologic patients. It is often critical in providing a diagnosis and proper treatment, making it an essential diagnostic tool for our patients and clients.

MRI is Non-Invasive, Rapid and Safe

Using onsite MRI allows our team to provide a more accurate diagnosis, to differentiate between the conditions that might be causing your pet’s symptoms and to do so safely and rapidly. MRI also allows us to differentiate conditions that may benefit from surgery from conditions in which surgery may be life threatening while also helping us differentiate between structural, infectious and neoplastic causes of disease. This knowledge shapes the care and treatment your pet will receive and is critical to providing life-saving medicine.

MRI and Other Diagnostic Imaging Options

At BVNS, we will consider all diagnostic options that are appropriate for your pet and discuss these options with you. While other options may be considered, it is important to note that in comparison to many of these options, MRI is vastly superior and safer. For these reasons, we will often recommend it over other options.
