Earl is dreaming of the days ahead in which he can run, play and return to Amy’s Place Memory Café. Earl is a well-known and beloved staple of the Alzheimer and dementia patrons and their families who go to socialize and connect with one another. The days of returning to his friends at the cafe are not too far off, as he is doing so well! He still has some convalescing to do after undergoing surgery two weeks ago. Earl’s surgery was made possible by a generous donor. Proof of amazing, generous people in the world today!

In mid- January, Earl was referred to BVNS Atlanta by Dr. Paulis of Banfield of Roswell for back pain and ataxia (wobbly in the hind end). He was under medical management and strict rest for some time, but due to progression of his symptoms, he returned for an MRI two weeks ago. Earl was diagnosed with a disc extrusion at L2-L3 causing spinal cord compression. He was transferred immediately to surgery where a hemilaminectomy was performed by Dr. Akin.

Earl went home the next day and has been improving ever since! He is pain free and walking so much better! Earl – we are excited for Earl’s continued improvement and will be pleased to see your return to Amy’s Place to share moments with some very special folks!
