Charlie came to BVNS Richmond to see Dr. Higginbotham when he was no longer able to stand due to extreme right-sided weakness.

A cervical MRI was performed which revealed a massive disc herniation wit right-sided spinal cord compression. Dr. Higginbotham performed a ventral slot in order to relieve the compression on the spinal cord.

Charlie’s family is happy to report that at his 2 week post-op visit he is able to walk around without any problem and has very minimal neurological deficits! Dr. Higginbotham and the rest of the BVNS staff are so pleased with Charlie’s progress and wish him and his family the very best in the future!
