This handsome Frenchie is Rico. Rico first came to BVNS Atlanta in July of 2016 for mild ataxia in the back end, which at the time responded well to medical management.

Rico returned to us in July for the same problem as before, except this time he was in quite a bit of pain. Dr. Akin preformed a neurologic exam and suspected disc disease. An MRI confirmed both congenital malformations of the thoracic vertebrae as well as intervertebral disc disease. A hemilaminectomy was performed and Rico went home the next day!

This is Rico pictured at his two-week post-operative exam and staple removal appointment. He is no longer ataxic and walks normally! His recovery has been smooth and quick. Today Rico is pain free and back to his normal life!
