This dapper dachshund named Tosh came to BVNS Atlanta in July when he was unable to walk. He has had some problems in the past with back pain but seemed to recover well with medical management. Unfortunately, this time he wasn’t responding to any medications.

Dr. Neary preformed a neurologic exam and suspected disc disease. An MRI was performed which confirmed a type 1 disc extrusion causing severe spinal cord compression. A hemilaminectomy was preformed and Tosh was able to go home just two days later!

Here is Tosh at his two- week post-operative and staple removal appointment. Doesn’t he look so joyful? His recovery has been smooth and quick. He is able to walk and move around so well! Today Tosh is pain free and back to his normal life!
