Zasha came to see Dr. Cuff at BVNS Rockville in February for a week of back pain and weakness after jumping up for a treat. An MRI showed that she had suffered an intervertebral disc herniation in her mid-back; the ruptured disc material was causing considerable compression of her spinal cord.
Dr. Cuff performed surgery the very same day to remove the ruptured disc material and relive the compression. Zasha went home 2 days later and was already much more comfortable and walking more normally.
This photo was taken at her 6 week post-surgery recheck exam. Zasha is now completely comfortable and, per her owner, is walking even better than she did before her injury.
