Jacque was referred to our Rockville location by Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital when he was suddenly unable to walk and had neck pain. We localized the problem to his cervical spine; the injury was so severe that it was also affecting Jacque’s ability to breath normally.

An MRI showed a severe C3-4 acute disc herniation as the cause and surgery (a cervical hemilaminectomy) was performed that night for emergency treatment.

Jacque began to recover in hospital in the days following surgery and his condition became more and more stable with time. By his two week recheck exam, he was already improved to the point that he was walking well and trying to run rather than just walk!
