This handsome dachshund is Oscar. He came to BVNS Atlanta in late January for back pain and rear limb weakness. Dr. Neary’s neurologic exam revealed that Oscar’s deficits were localized to the spinal cord in his back. An MRI was performed and revealed a disc extrusion at L1-L2 causing severe spinal cord compression. Dr. Neary performed a hemilaminectomy and Oscar went home the day after surgery.

This is Oscar at his 2 week recheck and staple removal. Since his surgery, Oscar has been doing great and is walking well. We are thrilled with his progress! Thank you, Dr. Gray Best Friends Animal Hospital for the refferal!
