This is Penny Lane. Penny Lane is a very active and energetic Frenchie who found herself unable to walk after just 24 hours of experiencing some back pain. She was referred to BVNS from Cherokee Emergency Veterinary Clinic for a neurological workup. Dr. Neary performed a neurological exam and suspected intervertebral disc disease. An MRI was performed and showed evidence of an acute, explosive, type 1 disc extrusion causing severe spinal cord compression. Penny Lane was immediately taken to surgery following her MRI. After one night in the hospital she was able to go home, already feeling much better. This is Penny Lane at her 2 week recheck appointment.
