Tootsie is a 10 year old miniature Poodle who came to BVNS Leesburg in February for an evaluation after she began having trouble walking.

Dr. Jarboe performed an MRI which identified two chronically compressive discs in Tootsie’s lower neck. Chronically compressive discs have a much more unpredictable outcome with regards to surgery but Tootsie was continuing to decline and her owners wanted to give her every chance possible. Dr. Jarboe performed ventral slot surgery in March.

Tootsie’s owners recently reported that she is back to her old self and is even able to accompany them on hikes like she used to! We are so glad that surgery was a success!
