Meet little Luna! Luna came to BVNS Atlanta after experiencing progressive neck pain. When an episode would flare up, she would have trouble eating, exhibited a head guarding motion, and walked with her head down.
After a neurological consultation with Dr. Neary and the recommended MRI were performed, it was revealed that Luna had intervertebral disc disease causing severe spinal cord compression. Dr. Neary performed a ventral slot surgery to decompress the spinal cord. Luna was able to be discharged the next day and she already appeared more comfortable than before the surgery.
Here is Luna at her suture removal visit. She has been recovering very well and didn’t seem to be in any pain. She was back to her sweet self and walking with her head up!
Thank you Dr. Jay Hendley at Animal Hospital of Gordon County for referring Luna and her family to BVNS.
