When Olie came to BVNS Atlanta, he was in pain and could not use his rear legs. Dr. Akin’s examination revealed him to be weakly ambulatory with severe pelvic limb paraparesis and ataxia. Olie’s MRI showed a disc extrusion at T11-T12 causing spinal cord compression, which was no doubt the cause of his symptoms. Immediately following his MRI, Olie underwent a hemilaminectomy to relieve the compression. Olie was able to go home the following day.

Olie returned with his entire family for his 6-week post-operative recheck with Dr. Akin. He is much improved, and we are thrilled with his progress thus far! We wish Olie a speedy recovery and the best of luck in the future.
